About the Department of Commerce:

Commerce deals with the various aspects of business, trade, accounting, and financial information. So our department plays a significant role in the development of our students and builds them as good citizens for the society. The main aim of our department is to develop Entrepreneurship and managerial skills in the students to enable them to establish and manage their business establishments effectively. For this our department takes the students for various “Field visits” to explore them for practical knowledge in the business and gain more knowledge in business. To enable the students gain confidence our department conducts “Student Seminars” to the students so that they became strong and remove stage fear among them. “Assignments” were given to the students about a particular topic so that students study the topic gain insight on the topic and produce their views about the topic in their opinion. Our students in order to explore their talent and skill to the outside world take them to outside colleges and make them explain few topic to outside colleges so that our students share their knowledge with the outside students through this “Student Outreach Programme”. Our department one of the best practices is giving “PG Entrance Coaching”. Here our lecturers give coaching, train the III B.Com students to prepare the PG entrance exam which make them gain good ranks and free seats in the university. Through all these activities our department strives for excellence.

HISTORY:

The college is established in the year 1966, Department of Commerce started with the course B.Com (General) in the same year. The course B.Com (Computer Application) started in the year 1998 as self finance course.
