Brief Description:

Employability Skills Center (ESCs): Employability Skills Centres (ESCs) are conceptualized by APSSDC to enhance employability skills of Undergraduate students while they pursue regular academics.The Government of Andhra Pradesh implementing ESC skilling programme from 2016‐17. ESCs are skills learning platforms that are available within the campuses of Degree, Post Graduate and University Campuses (non engineering). The objective is to enhance skills through volunteered gradual approach, where the student gets access to state‐of‐art Learning Modules. ESC imparts in two ways namely Common Core skills, which covers English Language Proficiency, Mastering Communication, Presentation skills, Aptitude & General Knowledge and information on various government jobs like UPSC,SSC, Defense, Research, Higher Education, Railways, Public Service Commission. Each student will have a learning account to access the content, take assessments, submit assignments and get gauged. ESCs also impart various modular short term programs for its students to enhance domain specific skills in the emerging areas in IT, FinTech, Accounting.

ESCs also imparts training on FOUNDATION COURSE MODULES, which are made part of UG curriculum by Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). APSSDC is closely associated with APSCHE, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE), Universities, Degree & PG colleges & Research Institutions in successful ESCs execution. APSSDC supported progressive institutions, colleges and universities with IT, & other infrastructure to strengthen training delivery and ensure its reach to remote areas. With our sustained efforts during the past two years more than 2700 UG students got selections in reputed IT & non‐IT firms like TCS,Capgemini, Infosys, HCL technologies, Tech Mahendra, Wipro, Insta Cash etc.

ESC: Salient features

• To target minimum 1, 00,000 students from UG /PG segments ; train them in employable skill sets and facilitate them with a minimum 30,000 carried oriented jobs.
• o carry out online trainings, assessments for 10 skill modules introduced in the UG stream. These courses will be delivered to all UG students in the state in collaboration with APSCHE, Vijayawada. APSSDC would develop state of art e‐content, course material and pedagogy to deliver the same.
• Core trainings (Foundation courses, communication, Problem solving, Financial and Digital Literacy, Career guidance, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and key life skills);
• Specialized Training:, which will vary from time to time (based on current job skills requirement e.g. presently SAP‐ERP, Java‐Selenium, Tally‐ERP, Web Designing, Digital Marketing , Logistics & SCM).
• Hosting a state of art Learning Management System (LMS) hosted in the cloud and making it available to various faculty members, students, and trainees all over the state.
• Development of IT based systems for maintaining information, monitoring and tracking activities for all stages of skilling: mobilization à placement and post‐placement.
